High-purity isostatic pressed graphite profiles

High-purity isostatic pressed graphite profiles (including graphite rods and cylinders) are manufactured using the Cold Isostatic Pressing (CIP) process, offering excellent structural isotropy, high density, fine-grain structure, and extremely low ash content. These profiles are ideal blanks for machining EDM electrodes, semiconductor thermal field components, vacuum furnace heating elements, and continuous casting molds. We offer standard-size blanks and custom machining services to meet the strict requirements of high-end industrial manufacturing.

Products Describe

Product Overview
Our high-purity isostatic pressed graphite profiles (available as rods, cylinders, and blocks) are engineered for high-precision machining and extreme high-temperature environments. Through isostatic pressing and multiple purification processes, the material features a uniform, dense internal structure without macroscopic defects, ensuring excellent stability during precision machining and high-temperature applications.

Key Features

  • Isotropic Properties: Consistent physical and mechanical properties in all directions, ensuring machining accuracy and dimensional stability at high temperatures.

  • High Purity & Fine Grain: Extremely low ash content (typically <50ppm) and fine-grain structure, suitable for semiconductor and precision EDM applications.

  • Excellent Machinability: Easy to turn, mill, drill, and grind into complex-shaped precision components.

  • High-Temperature Resistance & Thermal Shock Resistance: Maintains high strength at elevated temperatures with excellent resistance to thermal shock.

Typical Applications

  • EDM Electrodes: Graphite electrodes for high-precision mold electrical discharge machining.

  • Semiconductor & Photovoltaic: Heaters, insulation cylinders, and susceptors in single-crystal silicon pulling and polysilicon casting furnaces.

  • High-Temperature Vacuum Furnaces: Heating elements, support structures, connectors, and fasteners.

  • Metal Continuous Casting: Molds, degassing rotors, and stirring rods for non-ferrous metals (e.g., aluminum, copper).

Custom Machining Services
Beyond standard-sized graphite cylinders and rods, we provide professional OEM/ODM services. Simply provide your 2D/3D drawings or samples, and our precision machining center will deliver a one-stop solution from blank cutting to high-precision finished parts.

Manufacture Process

The exceptional performance of isostatic graphite profiles originates from a rigorous manufacturing process. Our production flow includes the following key steps:

  1. Raw Material Preparation & Mixing: High-quality petroleum coke, pitch coke, and coal tar pitch are selected, crushed, milled, accurately proportioned, and mixed uniformly at high temperatures.

  2. Cold Isostatic Pressing (CIP): The mixed paste is loaded into rubber molds and placed in a high-pressure vessel. Ultra-high pressure is applied uniformly via a liquid medium, ensuring uniform density and isotropic properties of the material.

  3. Baking: Long-term high-temperature baking is conducted in a protective atmosphere to carbonize the binder and transform the green body into a solid carbon material.

  4. Impregnation: Liquid pitch is impregnated into the material's pores under vacuum and high pressure, followed by re-baking to significantly increase bulk density and mechanical strength.

  5. Graphitization: Treated in an ultra-high temperature graphitization furnace at 2000°C to 3000°C, causing carbon atoms to rearrange into a graphite crystal structure, endowing the material with excellent electrical/thermal conductivity and high-temperature resistance.

  6. Purification: Halogen gas high-temperature purification technology is used to reduce ash (impurity) content to extremely low levels, meeting the requirements of the semiconductor and nuclear industries.

  7. Precision Machining: Based on customer requirements, CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders are used to precisely machine the graphite profiles to ensure dimensional accuracy.
