HP and UHP graphite electrodes. High-power graphite electrodes are produced with high-quality petroleum coke (or low-grade needle coke). The mechanical properties are higher than ordinary power graphite electrodes, allowing larger current densities. The ultra-high power graphite electrode must be produced with high-grade needle coke. The joint quality of high-power and ultra-high-power graphite electrodes is particularly important. Not only the resistivity and linear expansion coefficient of the joint blank are smaller than the electrode body, but also the joint blank should have high tensile strength and thermal conductivity. For reliability, the connector should be equipped with a connector bolt.
UHP graphite electrode used in high power electric arc furnace steelmaking, it has low resistivity, big volume density, high mechanical strength, small linear expansion coefficient and the characteristics of oxidation resistance optimal, can shorten the steelmaking time, increase production efficiency
