Classification and properties of electrode pastes

Jun. 08, 2022

Electrode paste is also called anode paste self-baking electrode paste or carbon electrode paste. It is made from anthracite, coke, asphalt and tar, and prepared at a certain temperature. This electrode can be used continuously and is formed by sintering the long edge of the edge joint.

Self-baking electrode paste is widely used in ferroalloy electric furnace and calcium carbide furnace because of its simple process and low cost. When the electrodes are fired well, the self-baking electrode pastes perform as well as carbon electrodes, but at one-eighth the manufacturing cost of graphite electrodes.

Electric forged coal is the aggregate of electrode paste, and the quality of electric forged coal directly affects the use effect of electrode paste. We use coal from Shenhua Group, which has low volatility, low ash, high carbon content, low resistance and high hardness. It is a natural raw material for electrode paste

Electrode paste includes various shapes: cylindrical, oval, block, etc. Different sizes can be made with different molds according to customer needs.
